Laser Dentistry

Interested in shot free, drill free, painless dentistry?

Dr. Sweeney is! He wants to ease the fears of patients and encourage a generation of children who are not petrified of going to the dentist. His plans for achieving this goal came to fruition at the purchase of one of the world's latest advancements in dentistry - Biolase Waterlase® technology.

With laser technology Dr. Sweeney can work on the young (and young at heart) without using the shot (anesthesia) or the drill in many cases.

Today the Waterlase can remove small to medium-sized cavities — in many cases with no anesthetic, no drilling or cutting, and little blood loss or swelling. Laser Dentistry represents cutting edge advancements in the dental field. It produces less pain and discomfort with a quicker recovery time for patients.

Dr. Sweeney is a certified, Biolase dentist. The Biolase Waterlase® laser works by combining a spray of atomized water with laser energy which produces hydrokinetic energy. This energy gently and precisely removes a wide range of human tissue including tooth enamel and soft tissue (gum tissue) with no heat or discomfort in most cases.

Lasers can do many things, including:

  • Removing the need for shots and numbing
  • Root Canals
  • Decay Removal
  • Cavity Preparation
  • General Soft Tissue Procedures
  • General Dentistry for Enamel and Dentin
  • Desensitizing Root Surfaces

Oftentimes, this kind of technology comes at an extra cost to the consumer. This is not the case with Hometown Dental. Doctor Sweeney believes in offering his patients high quality procedure at affordable prices. Whether using a traditional drill or laser technology, the fee from our office will be the same.

Imagine a world where your child is not afraid but excited to go to the dentist...after all, we offer T.V. and video games in the dental chair! Or better yet, you could leave the dental office after a procedure - eat or go back to work - all without being numb!
